I know what you mean. I cannot see any of the hills that surround the South Bay either. And the smoke does bother my eyes and throat quite a bit.
I am also really concerned about the lightning strikes. Unfortunately, there’s still a chance for dry lightning according to the forecast.

This is so true! I live right at the western side of the Altamont Hills and the sky is so smokey and hazy that from my house I can’t see the forest of windmills on the hilltops that I normally do. My daughter and baby grandson had to drive down from Chico to Stanford Children’s hospital on Wednesday and she said it was awful the entire way…Palo Alto’s air was no better. Let’s hope we don’t get more lightning strikes, as the grass is so very dry.
